Privacy policy
Domovia is built to protect your privacy. In short: no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no trackers — and your personal data never leaves your phone.
This policy covers the Domovia app for Android and iPhone, and this website. Both keep the same promise.
Who makes Domovia
Domovia is made in Brno, Czechia, by a foreigner who has lived here for eight years.
If you have a question about your data — or about anything on this page — write to hello@domovia.app. A real person reads it.
No accounts, no tracking
Domovia has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers. We don't build a profile of you, and there is no server that receives your personal data.
Everything stays on your device
Everything personal you create — saved phrases (favorites), learning progress, deadlines, My Events, and any Czech Lens scan history — is stored only on this phone. It is never uploaded.
Deleting your data
Everything Domovia knows about you is on your device. “Clear all my data” in Settings erases all of it, at any time, and uninstalling the app removes it too.
There is nothing held on a server for you to ask us to delete — we never received it in the first place. The one exception is this website's notify-me form, if you chose to use it; see “This website” below.
Camera and photos (Czech Lens)
When you scan Czech text, the photo is processed entirely on this phone by on-device text recognition. It is never uploaded, and it is deleted right after it's read — nothing is kept beyond the session unless you turn on Czech Lens history, which also stays only on your phone.
Camera access is asked on first use, and photo-library access only when you pick an existing image. Declining leaves the rest of the app fully usable.
Location (the optional “Near me”)
In Places you can tap “Use my location” to sort nearby services by distance. Your location is used only in that moment (foreground only) and is never stored, logged or uploaded. Everything in Places still works if you decline.
Content updates (download only)
When you're online, Domovia can download updated official information as ordinary requests for public files — the same kind your web browser makes. These requests carry no account, no identifier and no analytics.
Like any website, the hosting service may record a device's IP address in its standard server logs.
You can turn auto-updates off, limit them to Wi-Fi, or switch on Offline-only mode to make no network requests at all.
Translation language packs
Czech Lens translation runs on your phone using Google's on-device ML Kit. Each language pack is downloaded once from Google's service — a download only, with no personal data sent. After that, translation works fully offline.
Your rights
Because your personal data never leaves your device, you stay in control of it at all times. You can view, change or delete it in the app, wipe everything with “Clear all my data”, or remove it entirely by uninstalling. If you have any questions about your data, contact us at hello@domovia.app.
This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party trackers. Fonts and images are served from this site itself — not from Google Fonts or any CDN — so nothing about you leaks to a third party while a page loads.
There is exactly one place it collects anything: the notify-me form. If you choose to use it, you give one thing — your email address — and you must tick a box to confirm you want it. Nothing is collected without that deliberate opt-in, and there are no hidden fields.
- What we store: only your email address, and only to send you a single message when Domovia launches.
- Confirmation: after you submit, we send a short note to confirm it's really you. We don't email again until launch day.
- How it's sent: the form posts to a form-to-email relay (FormSubmit) that forwards your address to us. It doesn't build a profile of you or run trackers.
- We never sell, share or add your address to any other list.
- Delete any time: reply “remove” to any message from us and your address is gone.
